Role Overview:
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision. They deliver age-appropriate physical and psychological care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psycho-social support, and assistance with transfers and mobility. They prepare and assist with meals, administer delegated medications, document care activities, and communicate resident condition changes to nurses.
Key Responsibilities:Complete non-invasive specimen collection, monitor vital signs, maintain clean living environments, support wellness and recreational programs, and participate in departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. Must complete annual competency testing and continuing education (minimum 12 hours/year). Certifications vary by state, including CNA and medication aide certifications. Valid driver’s license may be required.
Key Duties:Assist residents with personal care and activities, administer medications within scope, document care outcomes, support resident activities, and maintain compliance with state regulations.
