Certified Nursing Assistant – Local Traveler

• Serve as caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care
• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision
• Deliver age-appropriate care according to care plans
• Follow infection prevention, control policies, and Personal Protective Equipment procedures
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, vital signs, psychosocial support, and personal care
• Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, walking, range-of-motion, and passive exercises
• Complete food preparation and dining tasks; assist with meals, snacks, water, and supplements
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
• Communicate changing resident conditions and care concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services
• Support wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation
• Participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as needed

• Travel required to support multiple locations within 75-mile radius of permanent address
• 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
• Minimum of 30 hours per month
• One weekend shift per month
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
• Colorado:
  Depending on facility, Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment required
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
• Maintains a record of continuing education credits; a minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
• Maintains all department specific required certifications
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• Depending on facility and required responsibilities, may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license
• Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions when applicable

Demonstrates expertise in providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in long-term care settings, while adhering to infection control policies and maintaining required certifications. Proficient in documenting resident interactions and communicating effectively with nursing staff to ensure optimal care.
