Shift: Monday-Friday generally 7:00am to 3:30pm with some flexibility
Position Objective The Quality Nurse shall be under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Quality. This position performs essential duties related to Infection Prevention and Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) standards of review and other duties as assigned related to quality.
Essential Responsibilities Assists the Supervisor of Quality and Infection Prevention:
Surveillance activities of infection prevention with implementation of control measures and prevention of infections.
Assists with clinical data through targeted and non-targeted surveillance.
Assists with scheduling and preparing for the Infection Prevention Committee.
Assists with determining when an infection is hospital or community acquired based on CDC/NHSN guidelines.
Assists with reporting mandated surveillance outcomes to the CDC/NHSN and MDH.Assists with writing and maintaining Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
Helps collaborate with the Director of Quality & Risk Management, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
Supports hospital quality improvement activities with data support, analysis and internal consulting.
Monitors and maintains current knowledge of key hospital accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Complies with Confidentiality of the Medical Record.
Helps to coordinate the hospital and clinics accreditation process.
Supports continuous quality improvement.
Ability to work independently as well as with other members of the Quality Team.
Communication and Reporting:
Ability to speak directly to physicians, providers and staff on quality-related projects or concerns.
Assist with patient concerns under the direction of the Department Director.
Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility depending upon the needs of the department
Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and the general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited RN Program Minimum of two years’ experience in an acute care hospital and patient care practice
Active and current RN registration/licensure in the state of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications Experience or training in Quality, or Quality-related training
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of EPIC, Microsoft Office and other software applications
