Aide Clinical Assistant - Emergency Department
Provide essential support to nursing staff by delivering direct patient care, facilitating communication, and performing clerical duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Fiscal Responsibility:
Efficiently manage supplies and equipment, complete tasks promptly, and adhere to scheduled shift times using the timekeeping system. Demonstrate productivity, accept emergency department and float assignments, and contribute to waste reduction efforts. - Quality:
Participate in unit-specific documentation standards, stay current with policy updates, problem-solve, multitask within your scope, and suggest improvements to enhance unit flow and patient experience. Accept delegated tasks appropriately and engage in teamwork. - Patient Satisfaction:
Promote positive patient experiences through timely responses, professional use of personal devices, maintaining a quiet environment, and purposeful patient rounding. Exhibit excellent guest relations with patients, families, and visitors. - Patient Safety:
Practice safe patient mobilization, implement fall prevention strategies, use two patient identifiers for all tasks, document unusual occurrences, and adjust care routines to meet individual patient needs. Adhere to HIPAA and social media policies. - Professional Growth:
Share knowledge and skills with colleagues, participate in orientation and cross-training, demonstrate leadership, serve as a resource and preceptor, identify learning needs, and collaborate on departmental goals. Attend in-services related to practice changes. - Customer Service:
Engage patients and families with professionalism, maintain a quiet and flexible work environment, practice AIDET communication techniques, foster teamwork, and provide holistic care to diverse patient populations.
Education and Experience
Required:
High school diploma or GED required. Alternatively, a current or past CNA license or completion of a CNA program with over five years of CNA experience is acceptable in lieu of a diploma or GED. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
Work Shift:
First shift, approximately 38 hours per week. This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
