Job Summary: The Clinic Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) will provide clinical and clerical duties in support of the health care team, and all Clinic areas. Work closely with HUC/CNA, Nurses and Providers to ensure a positive and seamless patient experience by facilitating patient referrals and correspondence to other care providers in and outside of RLMC to ensure continuum of care and facilitating/managing insurance prior authorizations.
Function as a resource to all members of the health care team, be familiar with general resources within the organization, and communicate effectively via a variety of modalities with patients, staff, providers, and visitors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of clinic, customer service or front desk clerical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 year of hire
- High School graduate or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- CNA Certification
- Medical terminology course or equivalent
- One or more years’ experience with prior insurance authorizations; retail pharmacy medications or insurance drug plans.
