Description
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to support a busy healthcare environment. This Contract position focuses on creating a welcoming front-desk experience while ensuring patient information, scheduling, and documentation are handled accurately. The ideal candidate brings strong customer service skills, comfort with administrative healthcare tasks, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon arrival, confirm identification, and assist with appointment check-in and scheduling needs.
- Review demographic and insurance details for accuracy and ensure required records are complete before visits.
- Upload and organize patient-related documents in the appropriate electronic record system.
- Prepare materials and chart documentation needed for upcoming appointments and next-day visits.
- Provide patients with requested imaging discs and reports after securing the proper medical release authorization.
- Manage incoming correspondence by sorting mail, routing faxes, and directing information to the correct recipients.
- Respond appropriately to urgent emergency calls and guide staff according to established procedures.
- Coordinate with radiologists, clinic personnel, referring offices, and patients to resolve appointment and scheduling questions.
- Offer cross-coverage support for scheduling and radiology support functions as needed, while also assisting with clerical tasks, supply management, and onboarding support for team members.
Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 6 months of experience in reception, scheduling, or customer service within a medical environment is preferred.
- Medical administrative training or a related certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology is preferred.
- Strong patient service skills and a detail-oriented front-office approach are required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, work independently, and collaborate with a team is required.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills are required for interactions with patients, physicians, clinics, and internal staff.
