Job Summary
Compensation Amount: 11.41 USD Hourly. The Banquets & Events Attendant is responsible for the set‑up, service, and tear‑down of banquet and event spaces, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests. This role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality service by anticipating guest needs, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting efficient event operations.
Essential Functions- Provide friendly, professional service by greeting guests in a positive and courteous manner and respond promptly to requests.
- Assist with set‑up and breakdown of banquet and event spaces according to event orders, diagrams, and management direction.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization before, during, and after events.
- Monitor events to ensure proper presentation and functionality; replenish food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
- Clear tables, remove dishes, and ensure timely clean‑up throughout and following events.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, sales, and event staff to ensure smooth execution.
- Address guest concerns professionally and escalated issues to management when necessary.
- Follow all safety and sanitation standards; report hazards or concerns immediately.
- Properly store, handle, and care for equipment and reusable materials after each event.
- Provide bar service at events when assigned, in accordance with certifications and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support event operations.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong customer‑service skills with a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn property food handling and sanitation practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to identify issues and proactively communicate with supervisors.
- In possession of TIPS certification or ability to obtain certification if required.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, including guests and coworkers.
- Ability to operate a point‑of‑sale (POS) system, including consistent handling of monetary transactions.
- Move on foot to accomplish tasks, with frequent movements within the unit.
- Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, move in constantly changing environment.
- Lift, carry and push up to 25 lbs regularly, 30–35 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Stand for the entire workday and climb stairs regularly.
- Withstand temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Physical presence at job site is essential.
- Banquet and event equipment (tables, chairs, linens, chafing dishes, serving trays, etc.)
- Beverage service equipment (coffee machines, beverage dispensers, bar equipment)
- Point‑of‑sale (POS) system
