About the Role

We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing company based in Winsted, MN to identify a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join their team. Our client is a respected industry leader specializing in the design and production of large‑scale metal products and structures, serving customers across multiple sectors nationwide. This is a highly visible, hands‑on HR role that offers the opportunity to partner directly with business leaders and employees while shaping the culture of a growing manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure consistent, compliant practices across the organization
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, corrective actions, and dispute resolution
  • Leading workplace investigations, including complex cases, documenting findings, and recommending solutions
  • Providing strategic HR guidance to leaders, aligning workforce planning and HR strategies with business objectives
  • Administering and executing HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, performance, recognition, morale, safety, and training and development
  • Driving the grievance and disciplinary process by advising managers, recommending actions, and preparing documentation
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and programs that support organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Coaching leaders through organizational change, ensuring employee engagement and retention during transitions
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, mitigating legal risk
  • Acting as a subject matter expert or process owner for select HR domains (e.g., investigations, HRIS, time and attendance, performance programs, compliance, recognition programs)
  • Participating in and/or leading HR projects and special initiatives, identifying business issues, analyzing data, and recommending solutions
  • Staying current on best practices and HR trends, proactively applying them to strengthen HR effectiveness
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned, supporting evolving HR needs across the organization
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3-6 years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role within a manufacturing environment (manufacturing experience is required)
  • Solid understanding of U.S. federal and state employment laws, including OSHA and Workers' Compensation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS tools to manage employee data and processes efficiently
  • Experience supporting key HR functions such as talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization
  • Strong conflict resolution and active listening skills to address employee concerns effectively
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to assess situations and recommend practical solutions
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in handling HR documentation and processes
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision, following standardized practices and procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptability in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee matters
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in routine HR matters and elevate complex issues appropriately
  • Collaborative team player with a customer service orientation and a willingness to support broader HR team initiatives
