Human Resources Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Consultant to support a non-profit organization in Bloomington, Minnesota through a Contract assignment. This role will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR administration, and compliance while helping create a positive and well-structured employee experience. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, practical HR leadership experience, and the ability to guide people programs that align with organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily human resources operations, ensuring consistent support across employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding, and core HR processes.
• Advise leadership and staff on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee matters with a focus on fair and compliant resolution.
• Oversee compensation and benefits activities, including program administration, employee communication, and coordination with relevant vendors or internal stakeholders.
• Maintain and strengthen HR policies, procedures, and documentation, including updates to the employee handbook and related guidance materials.
• Ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
• Direct onboarding activities that help new hires transition smoothly into the organization and understand key policies and expectations.
• Monitor personnel records and HR administrative workflows to promote accuracy, confidentiality, and timely processing.
• Partner with leadership to assess HR needs, recommend process improvements, and support organizational effectiveness initiatives.
