Role Summary
The Senior IT Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes. This role ensures seamless integration of automated systems and supports cross‑functional teams leveraging automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in manufacturing automation, strong problem‑solving skills, and experience with regulatory compliance in a pharmaceutical environment.
Responsibilities- Automation System Management:
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of manufacturing automation systems to ensure smooth business processes. - Process Optimization:
Identify and implement enhancements to improve automation functionality, streamline operations, and increase system efficiency. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Work closely with manufacturing, operations, IT, and quality teams to ensure seamless automation integration across departments. - Product Lifecycle Management:
Manage automation projects from discovery to launch and iteration, including road mapping and release planning. - User Support & Training:
Provide technical support and training to end‑users, ensuring effective use of automation features and troubleshooting common issues. - System Upgrades & Enhancements:
Manage upgrades, patches, and modifications to automation systems, coordinating with IT teams and vendors. - Data Integrity & Reporting:
Ensure accuracy and consistency of data within automation systems, developing reports and dashboards to support decision‑making. - Compliance & Security:
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, data security policies, and company standards for automation system usage. - Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with automation vendors, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve system issues and implement improvements. - Incident Management & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve technical and operational automation issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing reliability. - Project Management:
Lead automation‑related projects, such as new module implementations, integrations with third‑party applications, and process automation initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing automation systems and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and cybersecurity tools.
- Familiarity with operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISA‑99).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing automation projects, implementations, and upgrades.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience managing manufacturing automation systems in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with automation system implementations and upgrades.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards.
