Data Systems Analyst

A key aspect of this position is to develop and generate custom reports and dashboards for data analysis, supporting the Programs with insightful business intelligence. This will include management and development of a large complex Microsoft Access database, as well as several large complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for data digestion, analysis, and reporting. This role also requires interaction with database contractors to ensure seamless integration and functioning of database systems.

The ideal candidate has experience as a database administrator and will have a strong foundation in database development as well as a keen ability to translate data into meaningful and actionable insights for business decision-making.

Will support other database teams to manage, maintain, monitor, and help secure a database, and coordinate with other Government PM/PgM relevant to the execution of the Programs, support the Program with database related issues (develop custom queries, running custom reports for data calls), and interact with other database contractors.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the areas of development, database management, and/or data analytics.
• Proficiency in data manipulation languages, including MS SQL, Oracle Database, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL
• Need to be well-versed in varying versions of SQL to perform tasks like querying, updating, and managing databases.
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing SQL code, and understanding database optimization techniques.
• Experience and understanding with creating and maintaining account data for authorized individuals/organizations to access databases.
• Must have expertise in database security to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Should be skilled in implementing access control mechanisms, setting up user roles and permissions, encrypting data, and monitoring for security threats.
• Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, understand user requirements, and convey complex concepts in a clear manner.
• Prefer at least 3 years' experience as a database administrator.
• Prefer advanced experience with Microsoft Access
• Prefer advanced experience with Microsoft Power Platform, such as Power Apps or Power
  
  BI.
• Prefer advanced use of Microsoft Excel as a data analysis and reporting tool.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Prefer certification such as an MCDBA or MCSD for .NET or other data, database, and/or development certifications is advantageous.
