Technology Support Specialist
Department: Technology
Status: 40 hours per week | 12-month position
Summer Schedule: Additional flexibility available
Bargaining Unit: Non-Licensed Agreement
Salary Range: $25 - $35 per hour (based on experience)

Reports To: Superintendent and Building Principals
Position Summary
The Technology Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for staff and students seeking technical support across Zumbrota-Mazeppa Public Schools. This position provides front-line technology assistance, supports district systems and devices, and ensures reliable, responsive service that enhances teaching, learning, and daily operations. The Technology Assistant plays a key role in delivering equitable, efficient, and customer-centered support across all district buildings.
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; relevant technology certifications and training preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience supporting students, staff, and families in a technology environment
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education
- Working knowledge of Apple device management and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune and device management platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, software, and network-based systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Provide outstanding customer service as a representative of the ZM Technology Department
- Serve as key technical support staff for assigned building sites
- Respond to service requests, emails, and help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Provide in-person, virtual, and phone-based support
- Ensure equitable and consistent support across all district buildings
- Provide technical assistance for LMS, SIS, communication platforms, instructional tools, and district meetings/events
- Assist with device deployment, setup, imaging, and inventory management
- Perform equipment maintenance, repair, and configuration
- Maintain accurate technology inventory records
- Assist with technology projects, system upgrades, cybersecurity, and data protection practices
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required on an irregular basis
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Duties are performed primarily in a typical school setting with minimal environmental hazards. Occasional exposure to physical demands associated with technology setup and maintenance may occur.
