Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Chisago County

Salary: $39.21 to $51.63 per hour (DOQ)

• Configure and manage Cisco firewalls.
• Perform Nessus or equivalent vulnerability scanning and remediation.
• Configure and manage Cisco core routers and switches.
• Apply patch management procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability research and provide remediation for interconnected equipment or software.
• Identify vulnerabilities and remediate for the Chisago County E‑911 system.
• Document technical configurations and produce detailed reports.
• Maintain and troubleshoot layer 3 networking.
• Implement and manage hardware/software IDS/IPS technologies.
• Administer Linux and Microsoft Windows based systems.
• Manage VMware server infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce security practices, policies, and procedures across County systems.
• Evaluate new applications and systems for use within the County.
• Act as a liaison with the user community to understand IT needs and ensure compliance with security procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct security risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Facilitate security awareness training for staff.
• Maintain reporting systems to monitor the computer security function.
• Communicate with DES Management regarding privacy regulations and related statutes.
• Lead IT projects, ensuring appropriate resource allocation, timeline, deliverables, and schedules.
• Provide after‑hours support as part of an on‑call rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of six (6) years progressive experience in information systems, with at least two (2) years in computer systems security administration (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two‑year certificate in data processing, computer science, micro‑computer or related field plus four (4) years experience,

  * * seven (7) years progressive experience in network security, Microsoft networking, PCs and related technologies (or equivalent).
• Successful completion of a CJIS background check.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of information security management and practice, applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards for systems security.
• Strong project‑management, communication, and change‑management skills.
• Team‑player who values treating others with dignity and respect.
