Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Senior Analyst to join the Legal Department's Intellectual Property Group. This role is ideal for skilled paralegals and analysts, providing essential support to our IP attorneys in the management and protection of the organization's global intellectual property assets. The position offers opportunities to apply analytical and legal expertise while facilitating efficient, compliant innovation in alignment with enterprise risk standards.
The Senior Analyst plays a key role across IP portfolio management, enforcement, licensing, brand protection, trade secret governance, third‑party IP and data compliance, and the development of scalable tools, training, and self‑service capabilities that operationalize intellectual property best practices across the firm.
Positioned at the intersection of intellectual property law and innovative marketing and product development, the successful candidate will partner closely with attorneys, technologists, risk professionals, and business stakeholders across the enterprise. The role requires sound judgment, a strong sense of ownership, and comfort navigating evolving legal and technological landscapes within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
IP Portfolio Management, Enforcement, Transactions and Licensing:
* Support legal counsel in the management of the T. Rowe Price and its affiliate's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
* Participate in branding and product ideation initiatives, including conducting trademark clearance searches and supporting application, prosecution, and maintenance activities.
* Support intellectual property enforcement activities, including investigations, disputes, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support the execution and lifecycle management of IP-related agreements using approved templates and playbooks, in partnership with counsel.
* Support transaction attorneys by coordinating IP review workflows, maintaining playbooks and approved positions, and escalating novel issues to counsel.
* Coordinate and manage relationships with external counsel, including oversight of deadlines, budgets, and deliverables.
* Support compliance with third-party intellectual property and data usage requirements, including proprietary and market data.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive trade secret strategy, including identification, protection, education, and enforcement.
* Serve as an initial intake point for IP-related questions, triaging requests, applying established guidance, and escalating matters that require legal judgment.
Job Aids, Templates, & Self-Service Enablement:
* Develop, maintain, and enhance job aids, templates, forms, playbooks, and clause libraries to support attorneys and business stakeholders.
* Design and implement self-service solutions that enable efficient business execution while managing intellectual property risk.
* Support the standardization and scalability of IP-related transactional review processes.
Training, Awareness, and Communications:
* Design and deliver training programs and innovative educational mechanisms to embed "IP by design" into business activities and transactions.
* Create and publish internal communications, including blog posts, guidance materials, newsletters, and thought-leadership content, to promote intellectual property awareness.
* Help shape and communicate the organization's intellectual property narrative to encourage strategic use and protection of IP assets.
Stakeholder Engagement and Network Leadership:
* Lead and manage the organization's IP Champions Network, foster engagement, education, and collaboration across business units.
* Serve as a trusted partner to product, commercial, technology, compliance and legal teams on intellectual property matters.
