Job Summary
The Manager, Legal Operations oversees the day-to-day delivery of legal operations services, including paralegal support, core workflows, and legal technology platforms. This role ensures efficient, consistent service delivery, drives process improvement, and partners with legal and business stakeholders to support the effective operation of the Legal Department.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and develop paralegal staff, including workload allocation, performance management, and professional development.
- Serve as business owner for legal technology platforms (e.g., e‑billing, matter management, CLM system, etc.).
- Partner with Procurement and Finance to manage legal spend, enforce billing guidelines, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall delivery of legal services.
- Establish and maintain reporting dashboards and KPIs to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the execution of Legal Department strategic initiatives, including process improvement and change management efforts.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree. - Work Experience:
4+ years in legal operations, legal administration, or related role, with at least 1 year in a people management capacity. - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong operational mindset, ability to translate strategy into execution, experience managing vendor relationships, legal spend, and legal technology, excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Certification/Licensure:
Legal Lean Sigma Institute (LLSI), CLOC Academy, or related Legal Operations curriculum. - Hands‑on experience administering Ironclad CLM, including configuration, workflow design, template management, user administration, reporting, and ongoing system optimization.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet project management tool.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $ – $ per year, with additional bonus or incentive eligibility. The actual salary may vary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.
