Job Overview
This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership through multiple software implementations, and applying depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. The role is also accountable for end‑to‑end solution design and delivery.
Responsibilities- Ensure that the design and engineering approach for complex features is consistent with the larger portfolio solution
- Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tools/frameworks/practices for team(s)
- Enable team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engage with other technical stakeholders related to efficient functioning of the CI/CD pipeline
- Guide and influence team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance – e.g. pairing, code reviews
- Provide end‑to‑end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams at the program level
- Conduct research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
- Work with stakeholders to establish high‑level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, including 5+ years of direct experience with AWS
- Proven experience designing production‑grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments
- Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and governance within AWS
- Advanced knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies, etc.)
- Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Shell)
- Experience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and Git Ops workflows
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with multi‑account cloud architecture, landing zones, or control tower setups
- Familiarity with zero‑trust architecture, data encryption, and key management systems (KMS)
- Strong proficiency with using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to build cloud infrastructure solutions and automate cloud deployments
- Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or Dynatrace, as well as AWS native tools
- Experience optimizing cost and performance across large‑scale cloud environments
- Contributions to open‑source projects or active participation in cloud engineering communities
