Description
Position ResponsibilitiesChannel is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead the strategy and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics. This hands‑on role oversees dashboard development, reporting automation, and BI team execution to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable insights across the organization. The Director partners with cross‑functional teams and IT to support decision‑making, maintain data governance, and ensure reliable data for reporting.
This role also supports the Modeling & Analytics team to ensure consistency across analytical outputs.
- Enterprise Reporting Leadership:
Lead the strategy and delivery of enterprise‑wide reporting, ensuring consistent KPIs and actionable insights across all business units. - Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop BI Analysts, managing priorities and ensuring timely delivery of high‑impact BI initiatives. - Cross‑Functional Requirements Gathering:
Partner with Credit, Risk, Sales, Marketing, Collections, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership teams to translate business needs into BI solutions. - Data Governance
Collaboration:
Work closely with IT to support strong data governance, documentation, and data quality practices that enable reliable reporting. - Support for Modeling & Analytics:
Support the Modeling & Analytics team with data modeling needs to ensure consistency across analytical outputs. - Hands‑On Dashboard Development:
Design and build high‑impact Power BI dashboards and reports while guiding the team’s development standards and best practices. - SQL & Data Processing Oversight:
Write and optimize SQL queries, oversee data extraction and validation processes, and troubleshoot report pipelines to maintain accuracy and performance.
- Business Acumen:
To understand core business drivers and how data influences strategic decision‑making. - Leadership & Influence:
To guide and influence cross‑functional stakeholders. - Communication:
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly. - Analytical Thinking:
To identify patterns and understand relationships across datasets. - Problem‑Solving:
Strong capability to diagnose data issues and root causes. - Attention to Detail:
Precision in validating data and ensuring accuracy in reporting outputs. - Advanced SQL Proficiency:
To write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries. - Data Modeling Knowledge:
Understanding of dimensional modeling and analytical data design principles.
- Bachelor’s Degree:
In Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field. - Advanced
Experience:
8+ years in BI, analytics, or data strategy roles with demonstrated hands‑on technical capability. - Leadership Background: 3+ years supervising and managing team workload and priorities.
- Industry
Experience:
Financial services or lending experience is preferred - Master’s Degree: A graduate degree in a related field is considered a differentiator.
- Ability to work onsite out of our Minnetonka, MN, Mount Laurel NJ, or Kennesaw GA office
