Bankruptcy Paralegal

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to support a busy bankruptcy and restructuring practice. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys representing creditors in sophisticated Chapter 11 and bankruptcy-related matters. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, file, and serve pleadings and other legal documents in bankruptcy courts and related federal courts using CM/ECF.
  • Assist attorneys with all phases of bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings, claims administration, and contested matters.
  • Draft and file proofs of claim, notices, fee applications, retention applications, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
  • Monitor court dockets and case developments, summarize significant filings, and distribute updates to attorneys and clients.
  • Maintain critical date calendars, monitor deadlines, and coordinate case-related scheduling.
  • Assist with preparation and electronic filing of petitions, first-day motions, resolutions, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, court personnel, claims agents, and other professionals involved in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Prepare hearing and trial materials, including exhibits, binders, witness materials, hearing agendas, and other supporting documents.
  • Support attorneys with claims analysis, claims reconciliation, and review of bankruptcy filings and schedules.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, review court rules and procedures, and assist with jurisdiction-specific filing requirements.
  • Maintain organized case files and databases for complex bankruptcy matters.
  • Assist with preparation of billing and fee application materials and maintain accurate case-related records.
  • Perform docket searches, investigation, fact gathering, and other special projects as assigned.
