Job Description

General responsibilities for all store team members include operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing orders, maintaining inventory records, and cleaning equipment and facilities on a daily basis.

Communication Skills

Provide accurate written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers over the phone and in person for order processing.

Essential Functions & Skills
  • Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) quickly and accurately; use a calculator if needed.
  • Deliver correct monetary change.
  • Use verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Coordinate motor actions between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately execute precise movements.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
  • Navigate the designated delivery area using maps and address reading skills.
  • Navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
Exposure
  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash, performing outdoor tasks, delivering products, driving, and couponing.
  • In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to above 90°F in certain work areas.
  • Sudden temperature changes while inside or outside.
  • Fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and exposure to cramped quarters including a walk‑in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and other hazards associated with food production and delivery.
Sensing
  • Telephone communication, near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces.
  • Peripheral vision and night vision for driving.
Temperament

Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality‑control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make sound judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing:
    Most tasks are performed from a standing position; work surfaces range from 36" to 48".
  • Walking:
    Short distances, short durations, and travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
  • Sitting:
    Completing paperwork in an office setting.
  • Lifting:
    Bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds, dimensions up to 3’ × 1.5’, with cases stacked on shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying:
    Items such as large cans, pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs each) are carried from workstations to storage or the front of the store.
  • Pushing:
    Trays on dollies (24"–30") requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force; trays may also be pulled.
  • Climbing:
    Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders for price changes, wall cleaning, or maintenance; up to five flights of stairs during deliveries.
  • Bending, Supporting, and Ramping:
    Forward bending, kneeling, squatting, and continuous reaching (up, down, forward) to access shelving and perform tasks such as boilerplate operations.
Short‑Term Physical Tasks
  • Stooping/Bending for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day.
  • Reaching above 72" to operate oven controls, change signs, and lift objects; reaching below for tasks such as scooping cornmeal or washing dishes.
  • Crouching/Squatting when stocking shelves and cleaning low areas.
Driving & Delivery
  • Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area; multiple deliveries per shift.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle.
Hand Tasks & Tool Use

Eye‑hand coordination is essential throughout the shift. Frequent use of hands, forearms, and wrists occurs during pizza dough shaping, handling pizza peel, rolling cutters, and cardboard box assembly. Use of pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and peelers is required.
