- This position is responsible for designing and implementing the material and information flow processes within projects.
- Key focus is understanding the complete end-to-end supply chain system and being a key contributor on small to medium scale projects.
- Seeks to understand customers needs in detail and how to satisfy them using a strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving.
- Implement material, inventory, and information flow processes for the plan, make, source, and deliver strategies defined by business needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions.
- Design and procure material storage systems, material handling equipment, and computer hardware on small to medium scale projects.
- Create and document basic information flow systems containing supply chain and IT deliverables to meet project objectives.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external business partners including engineers, IT, suppliers, supervisors, leads, etc.
- Communicate assigned tasks and project status to project team and direct supervisor using status reports, meeting minutes, and formal updates.
- Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve material and information flow processes.
- Able to work as 'in-charge' lead for supply chain specific tasks.
- Informally provides direction to IT, scheduling, procurement, sourcing, vendors, etc.
- 4 year degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty.
- Working knowledge and experience in material and information flow systems and processes such as ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and lean methodology.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing processes such as pull systems, kanban systems, PDCA thinking, and value stream mapping.
- Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning.
- Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships.
- Communicates effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation techniques.
- Experience with change management strategies.
Demonstrates expertise in designing and implementing material and information flow processes within supply chain projects, utilizing knowledge of ERP, MES, and lean methodologies. Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
