Universal Worker

Status: Part-Time

Position Summary

The Universal Worker is a flexible and valued member of our team who supports multiple departments to ensure residents receive exceptional care and service every day. This role assists with transportation, dietary services, housekeeping, and resident activities while creating a clean, safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, adaptable, and enjoys working in a team-focused environment where every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact.

Essential Responsibilities
Transportation (Van Driver)
  • Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and community events.

  • Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.

  • Ensure resident safety during transportation.

  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.

  • Follow all traffic laws and company transportation policies.

Culinary Services
  • Assist with meal preparation and food service.

  • Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.

  • Deliver meals to residents as needed.

  • Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment.

  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Provide friendly and courteous customer service during meal service.

Housekeeping
  • Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and offices.

  • Vacuum, dust, mop, and sanitize assigned areas.

  • Make beds and replenish supplies as needed.

  • Properly dispose of waste and follow infection control procedures.

  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Activities
  • Assist with planning, setting up, and facilitating resident activities.

  • Encourage resident participation in recreational, educational, and social programs.

  • Help decorate for holidays and special events.

  • Assist with community outings and special events.

  • Build positive relationships with residents and families while promoting resident engagement.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (required for transportation duties).

  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, housekeeping, dietary services, activities, or transportation is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to assist residents with mobility as needed.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions during transportation duties.
