Purchase, store and issue parts, and run the work order process that keeps our heavy truck shop moving. Reports to the Shop Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Contact vendors to order parts and perform parts runs when needed
- Enter payable invoices and compare them against requisitions for quality and quantity
- Store parts in the storeroom, issue them to workers and keep inventory organized
- Create work orders for repairs and assign repair jobs to mechanics
- Record repair time expended by mechanics and proof work orders for accuracy
- Complete the work order process for operations manager approval, then finalize and file
- Organized and comfortable tracking parts, invoices and inventory
- Able to read shop manuals to identify the right part and specification
- Assists in supervising shop employees, including assigning and directing work
- Parts, service writing or heavy truck shop experience preferred
