Position Summary:

The Outside Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the exterior of farm facilities and supporting the safe, efficient operation of equipment and site infrastructure. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, groundskeeping, pest control activities, and general site upkeep. The position requires operating farm and maintenance equipment, maintaining biosecurity and safety standards, and assisting with projects that support daily farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on farm equipment and facility systems.
• Operate equipment including tractors, skid steers, pay loaders, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, augers, feed bins, belts, chains, sensors, generators, and related equipment.
• Complete grounds maintenance activities including snow removal, feed spill cleanup, weed control, and general site upkeep.
• Remove garbage, manure, and mortalities as assigned.
• Support pest control activities by maintaining bait stations and monitoring for rodent, fly, and animal activity.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate maintenance and supply needs.
• Complete maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.
• Follow all safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), biosecurity, and PPE requirements.
• Identify, report, and address conditions that may impact safety, animal welfare, biosecurity, or production.
• Assist with training team members and supporting daily operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to follow established procedures and safety requirements.
• Experience operating tractors, skid steers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment preferred.
• Previous maintenance, agricultural, industrial, or equipment repair experience preferred.
• Comfortable working around livestock, machinery, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and outdoor environments.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

$22 - $28 per hour

• Realizar actividades de mantenimiento de terrenos, incluyendo remoción de nieve, limpieza de derrames de alimento, control de maleza y mantenimiento general del sitio.
