Our Whiteshell location is looking for a Project Supervisor to support maintenance and decommissioning activities across the site.
What will you be doing!- Participate in daily and weekly meetings with project teams, managers, planners, and support services to support planning and progress reporting.
- Communicate working schedules, scope, and forecasted activities to Planners to support baseline advancement and site‑wide resource management.
- Monitor Plan of Day field work assignments using Daily Field Reports and provide progress updates to the Project Manager.
- Prepare work permits and lead pre‑job briefings and post‑job reviews, or delegate these responsibilities as required.
- Ensure trained and qualified resources are effectively deployed and utilized to maximize productivity.
- Consult with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Operations, Planners, and Work Management staff to prioritize and schedule work activities.
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for worksite activities, including coordinating walk‑downs and ensuring all participants understand the scope of work.
- Identify issues during field execution and take appropriate corrective action.
- Develop recovery plans in response to emergent or unplanned field activities.
- Ensure required documentation is completed, including Walk Downs, Field Verification Checklists (FVC), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Work Instruction Packages (WIP), Work Permits (WP), Orders to Operate (OTO), and clearance documentation.
- Ensure workers participate in pre‑job briefings, understand assigned tasks, and are aware of all hazards associated with the work.
- Ensure only approved safe work practices are used and exercise authority to stop unsafe work when required.
- Participate in post‑job reviews to capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
- Maintain daily logs, site reports, Work in Progress sign‑offs, and complete daily/weekly timekeeping and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- A two (2) year technical or university diploma/degree, or a Journeyperson trades certification with seven (7) years or more of relevant experience.
- A diploma in Health and Safety is considered an asset.
- Experience
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience, including a minimum of five (5) years leading and executing field work. Previous experience as a Project Supervisor.
- Experience leading large, multi‑disciplinary crews.
- Familiarity with construction, remediation, demolition, and building maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with radiological work is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership and team‑building skills with the ability to foster collaboration.
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently and collaboratively in high‑pressure environments.
- Ability to manage change, respond to evolving priorities, and maintain schedule and budget commitments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills to support sustainable and safe performance.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Ability to prepare accurate resource and cost estimates, develop schedules, and report progress across multiple concurrent jobs.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to perform under stress during emergencies or hazardous conditions and lead others effectively.
- Strong writing skills for reports, daily logs, Orders to Operate (OTOs), Radiological Work Plans (RWPs), and work plans.
- Solid understanding of workplace safety practices and work permit systems.
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3‑5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
