Benton County is seeking a strong and collaborative leader for a full-time, non-union Social Services Supervisor – HCBS position within the Human Services Department's HCBS Unit. This role provides direct supervision, operational leadership, and program oversight to support effective and person-centered Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) delivery.

The 2026 desired hiring wage range for this position is $41.35 – $44.42 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position also offers career progression potential up to $56.72 per hour.
Note:
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field, along with four (4) years of relevant work experience, is required for this position. The preferred qualification includes two (2) years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.

Position Summary:
Coordinate, oversee, and administer the delivery of social services to the assigned unit. Scope of responsibility includes providing supervision of professional and support staff, consulting on critical decisions, developing services and policies, submitting reports, and administering grant proposals/budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision of unit staff, prepare and maintain compliance with provider contracts, manage the unit budget, develop unit policies and procedures, respond to client concerns and complaints, develop grant applications, maintain records and files, and prepare reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field; four (4) years' relevant work experience; must successfully complete a background check; must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota. Obtain and maintain certifications and licensures.

Required:
Knowledge of social work principles and practices, federal and state laws relating to human services programs, familiarity with community agencies and resources, ability to communicate effectively, establish working relationships, apply managerial principles, perform analytical and inductive thinking, negotiate important agreements, travel within Minnesota, comply with organizational and departmental policies, and perform physical/mental demands of the work environment.
