Position: DoD Skillbridge - Production Supervisor - Active Military ONLY

This internship offers a learning program designed to prepare qualified candidates for a potential full-time role similar to the one described below. DoD Skillbridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Associated Milk Producers, Inc., as they continue to receive military pay and benefits as active-duty service members.
AMPI owns seven manufacturing plants in the Midwest, producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter. The cooperative markets award-winning dairy products to food service, retail, and ingredient customers. In 2019, AMPI launched the Dinner Bell Creamery brand, emphasizing over 50 years of dairy farm partnerships with skilled cheese makers and butter makers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to management.Maintain heightened food safety and quality responsibilities.Manage, mentor, and support production staff.Collaborate with maintenance to identify equipment issues, prioritize daily operations, improve machine efficiency, and manage work completion.Coordinate production expectations with plant personnel to meet daily and monthly goals.Ensure timely setup of processing equipment to meet productivity targets.Develop training procedures to enhance job knowledge and cross-training.Provide daily updates to department managers.Build strong relationships with plant staff, demonstrating leadership and effective communication to enforce policies.Understand software controls, address system issues, and facilitate training.Promote a safety culture focused on zero injuries and motivate adherence to safety policies.Participate in annual reviews of Food Safety and Quality systems.Identify and resolve problems efficiently, working well in team problem-solving scenarios.Create a positive team environment, boosting morale and commitment to goals.Manage projects with effective planning, communication, and resource allocation.Engage team members in planning and process improvements, providing regular feedback and fostering growth.React effectively under pressure, treating others respectfully, and taking responsibility for actions.Lead and oversee Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies, reporting nonconformities.Establish and maintain customer relationships, investigate complaints, and implement corrective actions.An individual must be able to perform these duties successfully.
