The Warehouse Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently handling liquid and dry chemical products, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance throughout all warehouse and transfer operations. This hands-on role involves loading and unloading trucks, tankers, and railcars; operating forklifts and other industrial equipment; repackaging and labeling materials; and maintaining precise inventory records. No two days are the same; you will work with a variety of products, equipment, and processes in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail truly matters.

Job Description:

General:

* Receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars. This work is physical and requires attention to detail as follows:

* Maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses

* Climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load

* Inspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operations

* Verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages

* Product sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnel

* Maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs. Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer program

* Picking and staging product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions

* Operation of powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse, and maintain daily forklift checklist

* Move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse

* Ability to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances

* Ability to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehouses

* Repackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment. This work is physical and requires attention to detail:

* Fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirements

* Give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items.

* Operate electronic scale and process devices

* Carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations

* Responsibility for inventory

* Examine stored product and report deterioration and damage

* Rearrange stored materials

* Assist in counting of physical inventory

* General Maintenance

* Ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers

* When spills occur, responsible for immediate reporting and cleanup

* Protect property from theft or damage

* Other duties as assigned, including mixing and blending as required

Your Profile

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.

* Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.

* Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification and demonstrate ability to operate a forklift safely.

* Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

* Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc. to carry out normal business operations.

* Meet or exceed production requirements based on information and or equipment used in the course of work performance

* Wear safety equipment as prescribed by company

* Comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks

Job Requirements:

* Participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings

* Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift

* Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed

* Good safety and attendance record

* Ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel

* Observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures

* Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

* Must pass E-verify check

* Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities within Brenntag. Only applicable to MTSA sites.

* This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

* Able to pass company physical and all training requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment, which may include a respirator.
