- Conceive and plan projects, in collaboration with manufacturing team, involving major production activities (plant tests and commercialization of new products), exploration of product and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in manufacturing operations.
- Control and administrate budgets and timelines.
- Partner with Site Director to design and implement capital projects.
- Partner with contractors to define scope, budget, and timelines.
- Prepare project approval and justification documents.
- Create and optimize packaging designs for new and existing products, ensuring functional, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
- Perform equipment trouble shooting out in the field to verify that the issue at hand has been resolved. This task is performed so that verification can be made that the system out on the field matches the programming.
- Identify, research, and adapt machine and equipment design to accommodate factory and production improvements including preparation of cost justification and capital request documents.
- Lead and drive projects with significant productivity and cost reduction impacts. Areas of focus are overall yield, waste reduction, chemical usage, and CIP optimization.
- Lead packaging projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Manage projects involving design and procurement of new equipment, specifying, evaluating, and recommending innovative technologies, strategies and methods that will benefit operations as needed.
- Aid in creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Work for all production areas.
- Innovate, recommend, and collaborate with technical teams to develop new processes/services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide technical training for operators to support making decisions at the lowest level.
- Work with employees to identify and troubleshoot issues and ensure corrective action is taken as appropriate and required.
- Work with employees to identify and scope new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance and preventative/predictive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot packaging-related issues in production and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communication skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills also need to be very good for a change agent to be effective.
- Comply with relevant employment laws and company policies and procedures.
- Operate in a safe manner and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
- 5+ years of experience
- Prior experience working in the dairy industry or food manufacturing preferred
- Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, and FDA regulations.
- Windows skills experience required (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. team spirit, dynamic, innovative, results-oriented and autonomous
- Significant interaction with manufacturing facilities is required
- Ability to trouble shoot programming, hardware, software, and network issues as they relate to the process.
- AutoCAD Design Experience preferred
- P& or experience preferred
The starting annual base salary for this position is $90,000.00 USD and up based on experience, with initial eligibility consideration for our Discretionary Incentive Plan. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience.
