The Spice Worker position accurately weighs and prepares ingredients according to batch schedules and stages ingredients to be used for further processing by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions- Checks/verifies materials and amounts to be weighed per batch formula.
- Scoops or pours ingredients into measuring device for hand weighed ingredients.
- Weighs ingredients accurately following standard procedures to ensure allergens are controlled while using personal protective equipment (gloves, apron, glasses, dust mask, etc.), if required.
- Verifies weights of ingredients are accurate and containers are labeled then places pre-weighed ingredients onto the designated cart.
- Fills hoppers of automated system with correct ingredients using vacuum assist for lifting bags.
- Cleans work areas and equipment according to standard sanitation procedures.
- Operates electronic controls for automated weighing system.
- Troubleshoots automated weighing system when issues arise.
- Will be cross trained in at least one other area to remain productive during low volume periods.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
This role is non-exempt at $20.96 to $24.87 per hour.

Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders to elevated platforms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
The employee moves objects up to 5 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
