Description
Join Massman as a Fabrication Engineer and help shape the future of our fabrication operations. In this role, you'll lead and support the integration of new products, equipment, and processes across multiple business units-driving consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement along the way.
Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and shop teams, you'll act as a go-to technical expert, improving performance across yield, quality, safety, and cost. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys blending hands-on manufacturing knowledge with project leadership to deliver real operational impact.
Requirements
In this role, you won't just support fabrication-you'll help evolve it. You'll work across teams to bring new products, technologies, and processes to life while driving consistency, efficiency, and performance across our operations.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that integrate new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes into fabrication
- Serve as a technical resource to fabrication teams, helping standardize processes and implement best practices across business units
- Evaluate and support the selection of new fabrication equipment, balancing performance, quality, and cost
- Partner with engineering and business unit leaders to identify and implement process improvements that drive measurable operational gains
- Champion continuous improvement efforts focused on yield, quality, and overall manufacturing efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining and fabrication challenges on the shop floor-reducing downtime and eliminating rework
- Support facility and layout improvements to enhance workflow, safety, and productivity
- Help develop and standardize work instructions, processes, and documentation
- Contribute to training efforts to ensure consistency and scalability across teams
- Promote a strong culture of quality and safety in all fabrication operations
- Track project progress and communicate key metrics, updates, and wins to leadership
You're someone who can move seamlessly between the shop floor and project discussions-comfortable getting into the details while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
- Strong project planning, organization, and coordination skills
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining (mills, lathes, multi-axis equipment)
- Experience with CAD/CAM tools, including Solid Works (required) and platforms like Mastercam or Fusion 360
- Working knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes (MIG/TIG, structural)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using precision measurement tools
- Familiarity with a wide range of fabrication equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, forming equipment)
- Analytical mindset with a proven ability to solve complex manufacturing challenges
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and shop teams
- Self-starter who can take ownership and drive work forward independently
- Clear communicator-both on the floor and with leadership
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience supporting capital equipment projects, process improvements, or manufacturing initiatives
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 6S, or continuous improvement methodologies
