Responsibilities
  • Our Press Operators are customer-obsessed and strive to exceed customer expectations with each and every order.
  • Read and adhere to the job traveler (MFG Order) instructions and steps.
  • Inspect parts and materials, stage orders, and operate either lithography or digital printing presses.
  • Troubleshoot machine operations when needed and conduct preventive maintenance steps.
  • Implement best practices in manufacturing processes and report orders; participate in safe, lean, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain manufacturing expertise in color printing, organization, attention to detail, time management, communication, reporting, and computer competencies.

As a Machine Operator you will
  • Operate single or multi-color printing presses with knowledge of lithography, ink balance, densities, chemistries, emulsification, four-color process concepts, and PMS color densities; decide color placement for print quality.
  • Operate digital print equipment including setup and adjustment of feeder, print heads, and delivery by size and thickness.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on all equipment (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and maintain maintenance documentation.
  • Accurately report and record daily production and scrap.
  • Achieve make-ready and run times per standard rates.
  • Communicate with Supervisor or MFG Facilitator to address work area concerns.
  • Follow all Safety and Quality protocols and adhere to ISO 9001; 14001, 6S standards and Lean processes.
  • Identify when mechanical or software problems occur; troubleshoot software on digital printers.
  • Lift up to 45-pound boxes frequently; team lift at higher weights.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, including temporary associates, by adhering to company policies and promoting the company’s Vision, Values, and Respect in the Workplace.
  • Reach, bend, twist, push, pull, grasp, and stand for extended periods; move about the facility as needed.
  • Read and follow all Manufacturing Order (MOs) directions.
  • Report time accurately and set up machines according to Work Instructions and operator manuals.
  • Support teamwork and process improvements through active participation in meetings.
  • Understand digital outputs and ads; visually inspect products to complete required quality checks.
  • Work rotating shifts and overtime as scheduled to meet business timelines.
  • Wrap, band, tag, and/or move skids of product.
Qualifications
  • Reading, writing, and math skills equivalent to a HS Diploma or GED.
  • Experience reading and following MOs and production instructions.
  • 1 year of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Experience in 5S and Lean Manufacturing; understanding basic manufacturing processes.
