Following work instructions & under supervision, produces parts according to print and specifications, meeting Pequot Tool work standards.
Responsibilities- Review work orders & instructions to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
- Follow priorities and assignments as directed.
- Load work pieces, plastic material, or chemical solutions into machines.
- Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
- Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
- Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process.
- Perform deburring operations to skillfully remove excess material or burrs from surfaces; sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone or polish metal or plastic work pieces. Operate tumbler, hand grinding or mechanical/robotic tumbling or straight-lining equipment. Apply solutions to surfaces to clean materials.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
- Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
- Record work steps in computer, scanning operations, entering completed piece and scrap information.
- Assemble various components into a final assembly unit; may require the use of hand tools.
- Package finished products and prepare them for shipment.
- Keep work areas clean.
- Maintain production equipment and machinery per instructions for operators.

— Possess a mechanical aptitude to learn processes associated with basic machine operation and assembly. - Mathematics
— Knowledge of arithmetic, able to add, subtract, divide whole figures and fractions. - Attendance Management
— Reliable, dependable; can attend work on time with minimal absences allowed. - Mechanical
— Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Tools used in this occupation:
Calipers (dial calipers; vernier calipers). Machines (insert press, automatic saw, shears, straight liners, punch press, press brakes, drill press; pallet jacks, carts, various hand tools that grind or polish).
Handling / Fingering (Occasionally). Reach Outward (Constantly). Reach Above Shoulder (Constantly). Climb / Crawl (Occasionally). Weight 41-100 lbs.

Vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception); sense of sound; sense of touch; ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including protective footwear (steel toe) and safety eyewear.
