Position:
Resource Operator II

The Resource Operator II carries out all operator tasks in applicable areas of the plant and provides shift coverage during employee breaks and vacations.

Areas of Responsibility
  • HTST and packaging (Le Sueur Ingredients only).
  • HTST, starter, packaging, vat, belt, secondary starter/powder blend, mozzarella make room, and custom processing dryer (Lake Norden only).

Base pay: $30.19/hr
; $1.50/hr extra for night shift; two potential pay increases within the first year.

  • Shift schedule: 2/2/3 rotating days 5:45 am–6 pm and 2/2/3 rotating nights 5:45 pm–6 am.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out all tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Train other workers on various tasks as needed.
  • Perform all CIP, Master Sanitation items, and titrations to maintain high sanitation standards.
  • Immediately report equipment/production issues to the Production Supervisor and communicate any variations.
  • Take area samples for micro and analytical results promptly.
  • Maintain working knowledge of production and CIP circuit flows.
  • Complete pre‑operational log before production run.
  • (II only) Operate all cheese/whey equipment and CIP systems proficiently.
  • Return all sample vials to laboratory after production run.
  • Recognize and correct factors outside acceptable operating parameters.
  • Adjust computer and machinery systems as needed.
  • Clean and set up areas and processes.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and timely.
  • Identify information by categorizing, estimating, or recognizing changes or deviations.
  • Follow equipment start‑up procedures safely.
  • Accurately take and log frequent readings.
  • Regulate factors; make adjustments based on cheese/whey type.
  • Perform operator‑level troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery.
  • Operate spray dryer following SOPs.
  • Oversee mixing and bagging operations.
  • Perform in‑process testing.
  • Assist Supervisor/Management as needed.
  • Possibly operate a Critical Control Point per HACCP/Food Safety plans.
  • Maintain a clean workplace free of safety hazards.
  • Clean and sanitize all applicable areas, walls, floors, equipment.
  • Effectively troubleshoot equipment.
  • Use proper PPE at all times.
  • Comply with Quality Assurance policies and report potential food safety issues.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, SOPs, and Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Implement safety protocols: stop unsafe acts, report hazards, support safety policies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food plant manufacturing preferred.
  • Good mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to give actionable feedback and take appropriate action.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with managers and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills; able to input and retrieve information.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, adapt quickly, and think independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Follow written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions; complete checklists and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Problem‑solving by adapting knowledge and experience.
  • Professional manner and constructive working relationships.
