Dry Packaging Machine Operator – Tuffy’s Pet Foods

Hours:

6am - 2pm M-F

• All in hourly compensation: $22.18/hr
• Base Pay: $20.96/hr
• Sign on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked
• Profit Sharing Eligibility:
  Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.5 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2024 which equated to an extra $6.10/hr or $12,688 annually for employees)

We’re now hiring a Night Shift Dry Packaging Machine Operator to operate and maintain the general operation of a line, to ensure continuous quality, efficiency, sanitation, and safety of that line. This position will report to the night shift supervisor and night shift assistant supervisor.

• General knowledge of daily extrusion and production reports
• Communicate with Supervisor/Foreman on all production concerns
• Communicate with Extruder Operators on product times and bin space
• Start and set up all required equipment for production
• Control packaging materials, code dates, expiration dates, stickers and any items unique to product specs
• Control product quality, packaging quality, contamination, weight controls and line efficiency
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and assist maintenance personnel
• Perform all equipment adjustments and change overs and troubleshoot equipment when problems occur
• Complete all daily reports in a legible manner; complete special projects as assigned
• Assist in controlling packaging from warehouse; supervise all line workers required on line
• Assist other lines when needed; perform all other duties assigned; assist training of all line workers
• Have complete knowledge of bin, product distribution, product delivery and blending systems
• Coordinate all record keeping and charting to include cleaning schedule, packaging yields and efficiency
• Assist Supervisor and Foreman as needed to control packaging area

• General mathematical ability and basic computer skills
• Must not be afraid of heights, ability to climb 150 feet
• Be able to meet physical requirements necessary for this position
• Be willing to work hours and shifts as required by the supervisor
• Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English
• Working in loud and at times dusty and hot environment
• Willing and able to get along with others; be willing to fill in on other shifts as required by supervisor
• Ability to handle weights of up to 65lbs on a routine basis
