About The Role

The Site Technical Associate Manager is accountable for the ongoing technical support and improvement of existing infant formula products, and the qualification of new products and processes at the Wanamingo Supply Center.

Your responsibilities
  • Partners with Operations, R&D, and Quality groups to ensure products are manufactured right the first time, from initial qualification through ongoing optimization.
  • Works with manufacturing teams on the shop floor to troubleshoot operational problems and drive improvements across powder blending and packaging.
  • Manages scale up and qualification plans for new products, following the Tech Transfer process with focus on technical due diligence and risk assessment.
  • Develops validation protocols and reports to qualify manufacturing and cleaning processes.
  • Interacts with FDA when onsite for audit as a subject matter expert.
  • Leverages knowledge of unit operations and engineering principles to effectively troubleshoot processing and equipment issues.
  • Uses business tools to investigate out‑of‑spec issues and recommend disposition of material.
  • Assesses and implements improvements for Plant CIP/COP/Master Sanitation.
  • Effectively communicates technical topics to key stakeholders, management, and team members to influence decisions.
  • Identifies and implements cost‑reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Sets technical standards for operations, maintenance, safety, and quality.
  • Applies HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements to process design and qualifications.
  • Incorporates corporate safety and environmental standards into product/process trials.
  • Continuously improves factory operational and technical capabilities to achieve business goals.
The experience we're looking for
  • Candidate possesses a degree in a chemical science discipline (Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, or related field) with 3+ years of hands‑on manufacturing support experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing support is essential; relevant fields include infant formula, dairy, nutritional food, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated competencies in problem solving, judgment, initiative, leadership, planning, attention to detail, sense of urgency, creativity, and strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory and GMP requirements for infant formulas or other highly regulated products is essential.
  • Knowledge of nutritional products, food chemistry, analytical sampling, testing, and formulation is highly relevant.
  • Experience in process qualification, including creation and execution of qualification documentation, is essential.
  • Familiarity with process engineering, micro‑sensitive equipment design, and process optimization is useful.
  • Experience in powder transport, blending, CIP, and powder packaging is highly relevant.
  • Candidate should have experience in technical writing, documentation, and presentations.
  • Experience using statistical process control data to analyze situations and drive decision‑making is needed.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Minitab, Microsoft Office, and related tools is a benefit.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment requiring teamwork and collaboration.
  • Some travel may be required.

Pay Transparency

The base salary for this role varies based on experience, education, and other factors. An annual discretionary bonus is available.
