Hard Troweler

The Hard Troweler is responsible for finishing freshly poured concrete to achieve smooth, level, and high-quality surfaces. This role plays a key part in ensuring finished products meet company and customer expectations. Success requires attention to detail, knowledge of concrete behavior, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Salary range $25 - $27/Hr. Based on location and experience.

Spread, level, and finish concrete using hand tools and power equipment such as trowels, screeds, and floats. Operate concrete vibrators to ensure proper consolidation and eliminate air pockets. Use hand and power trowels to achieve required surface finishes. Interpret basic blueprints to support proper setup and finishing processes. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards. Follow all safety guidelines and safe work practices.

Work with Quality Control to ensure finished products meet specifications. Follow direction from team leaders and supervisors to maintain production flow. Perform work across multiple plant areas as needed. Demonstrate initiative by understanding daily tasks and anticipating next steps. Maintain professional and positive working relationships with team members. Support company policies and contribute to a productive work environment.

The ideal candidate is a skilled concrete finisher with a strong eye for detail and quality workmanship. They are dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working in a physically demanding environment. This individual demonstrates initiative, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering high-quality finished products.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in concrete finishing preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate concrete curing and finishing conditions.
  • Basic math skills, including measuring and blueprint reading.
  • Proven attention to quality and accountability for finished products.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use. Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours. Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently. Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards.

Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location). Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
