Job DescriptionA Laser Nesting Software Technician is responsible for the following duties:
- Nesting Optimization: Utilize specialized software (such as Dr. Abe, Abe Planner and Pro Nest) to lay out part geometries on raw metal sheets.
- Programming: Translate engineering blueprints and CAD files into operational CNC programs for the laser machine.
- Material Management: Keep track of material yields, efficiently group different-sized parts, and manage leftover scrap and raw material inventory.
- Quality: Ensure job orders are completed on schedule and production meets quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work with floor operators, team lead, and engineers to prioritize jobs and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Material Knowledge: Understanding of different material types (steel, aluminum, etc.), and thicknesses.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily preventative maintenance and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
The starting pay range for this position is $18-$22 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
