The Lead Position at Opal Foods LLC is a full-time, on-site role based in Litchfield, MN. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a designated area, coordinating team members, and ensuring production, safety, and quality standards are consistently met. The Lead will direct work assignments, monitor workflow, and support team members with training, guidance, and problem-solving. Daily tasks include tracking performance metrics, completing required documentation, conducting inspections for biosecurity and animal welfare, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
The role collaborates closely with supervisors and cross-functional teams to address operational issues, implement process improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leadership and team coordination skills, including the ability to assign tasks, coach team members, and foster a respectful, collaborative work environment.
- Operational and production experience, preferably in agriculture, food production, or a related manufacturing setting.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance, with the ability to follow and enforce company policies, animal welfare standards, and biosecurity procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Basic organizational and problem-solving abilities, including maintaining documentation, tracking performance, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Ability to work on-site in Litchfield, MN, with reliability and flexibility to meet operational scheduling needs.
- Physical capability to perform hands-on tasks as required in a farm or production environment (e.g., standing, walking, lifting within reasonable limits), with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in a lead or supervisory role is a plus.
