Rotocast Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Summary

Gemstar Manufacturing® is looking for an experienced 3rd Shift Machine Operator to join us in Cannon Falls, MN. This role involves setting up and operating roto‑molding equipment to produce custom parts according to specifications.

Wage Range: USD $23.91 - $31.99 per hour (includes 10% shift premium)

Location: Cannon Falls, MN

Type: Full Time – On‑site

Schedule: 5/8 hour days 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (Sunday through Thursday)

• May operate roto‑molding equipment as business needs require.
• Review work orders to determine what mold and materials are required.
• Prepare molds by cleaning and applying release agents when necessary.
• Weigh the correct shot weight in order to achieve the proper wall thickness per print.
• Input proper operational cycles into computer per work order instructions.
• Load and unload product, being careful not to damage molds.
• Read blueprints and SOPs to ensure that products are produced in accordance with company QA/QC standards.
• Cut and sort scrap materials to type and color.
• Be extremely quality conscious of mold handling, care, and maintenance.
• Perform continuous inspection of work performed to ensure that tools and molds produced are consistent with company standards of quality.
• Maintain an awareness of variable conditions affecting the operation of equipment such as heat cycles, oven temperature, cooling cycles, inert gas or air, and the rotation ratio of both axes.
• Always maintain the department in a neat and orderly manner.
• Be aware of and comply with ISO standards and Gemstar’s quality management system.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.

• High degree of mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Openness to flexibility to work in multiple areas depending on the company’s need.
• Above‑average skills in problem solving, troubleshooting and communication.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Two or more years’ experience in a production environment preferred.
