Press Brake Operator

This role involves setting up and operating press brake machines in a sheet metal fabrication environment. You will interpret work instructions and blueprints, select jobs and materials, and run parts to meet production requirements while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate press brake machines to produce sheet metal components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to understand job requirements and part dimensions.
  • Select appropriate jobs from the schedule, gather required materials, and prepare workstations for production.
  • Run parts efficiently while monitoring quality and making necessary adjustments to the press brake settings.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency, and address any issues promptly.
  • Assist in various stages of sheet metal fabrication as needed, supporting different operations and team members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and support overall production goals.
  • Demonstrate reliability by maintaining consistent attendance and a strong commitment to long-term employment.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience operating press brake machines in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including forming and bending.
  • Experience selecting materials and setting up machines for different jobs and part requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect parts for quality and accuracy.
  • Willingness to assist in all areas of the shop as needed and support various fabrication tasks.
  • Reliable work ethic with a desire for long-term employment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating other fabrication or machine tools is a plus.
  • Comfort working in a production environment with varying job types, including medical equipment, retail fixtures, and heavy machinery components.

  • Ability to adapt to different tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a 55,000 square foot sheet metal fabrication facility that produces components for medical equipment, retail store fixtures, and heavy machinery manufacturers. The shop operates primarily on a first shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a half day on Friday, and consideration may be given to candidates interested in second shift.

The culture is team oriented and close knit, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and supporting one another across different areas of the shop. The environment is industrial, with typical fabrication equipment and machinery in use. Safety is a priority, and employees are required to wear appropriate protective gear, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stacy, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
