We are seeking an experienced Manual Milling Machinist to support aerospace manufacturing operations producing precision-machined components for aerospace, semi-conductor, defense, and medical applications. This position is responsible for operating manual milling machines to manufacture high-quality parts that meet strict aerospace tolerances and production standards.
The ideal candidate has strong machining fundamentals, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate manual milling machines to produce quality components to customer specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Machine parts to tight tolerances using aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty alloys
- Select tooling, determine feeds and speeds, and perform machine adjustments
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments
- Deburr and finish machined parts to specification
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Follow AS9100 quality standards and manufacturing procedures
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
- 3+ years of manual milling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Experience holding close tolerances on precision parts
- Proficient with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other inspection tools
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials - Ability to work independently and prioritize production schedules
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality systems
- Experience with manual lathes, grinders, or secondary machining operations
- Trade school certification or machinist apprenticeship
- Prototype or low-volume production experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision inspection
