The position follows daily, weekly, and monthly task sheets to ensure all sanitation and cleaning requirements are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble production machines in the Wet Mix, Dry Mix, or Frozen departments for thorough cleaning and sanitation.
  • Clean and sanitize all machine components and surrounding areas, ensuring they meet food safety and GMP standards.
  • Reassemble machines correctly after cleaning and verify they are ready for safe operation.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and general janitorial duties around the machine and production areas.
  • Follow daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation task sheets to complete all required cleaning activities on schedule.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitation of any equipment or areas related to food production as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with food production and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely, including moving items in and out of freezers when required.
  • Communicate any equipment or sanitation issues to appropriate personnel to support continuous, safe production operations.
  • Work extended hours, including up to 60-hour work weeks when needed, to support production and sanitation demands.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with sanitation, cleaning, and janitorial tasks in a production or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with food production processes such as mixing, blending, and bakery operations.
  • Understanding of sanitation practices and procedures, including proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques.
  • Ability to work with and around production machinery, including basic machine operation support.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production environment.
  • Reliability and commitment to consistent attendance and completing assigned tasks.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a production setting.
  • Ability to work up to 60-hour work weeks when needed to meet production and sanitation requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfort working in cooler environments (around 57 degrees) and handling items in and out of freezers.
  • Attention to detail when following daily, weekly, and monthly task sheets and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow safety and cleanliness standards consistently.
  • Ability to adapt to different departments (Wet Mix, Dry Mix, Frozen) and learn specific sanitation needs for each area.
