We here at Massman Companies are looking for someone to join our talented team on days in Villard, MN. Someone who knows their way around a lathe, loves working with their hands, and brings craftsmanship to every cut.

Key Skills

• Set up and operate manual lathes to machine custom parts
• Ability to know the types of material (aluminum, steel, and stainless)
• Ability to use measuring tools (Caliper, Micrometer, etc)
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Experience running manual lathes (not just CNC) and other manual machine tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and high attention, and reliable work ethic
• Knowledge of metal properties, cutting speeds, and feeds
• Familiarity with tolerances and surface finishes

• 2-year degree and or experience in the field
• 3+ years of experience operating a manual lathe preferred
• Vocational or technical training in machining is a plus
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Good communication and organizational skills

• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, grease, etc)
