The role is intended to start in Summer 2027.

This Role has an on-site working model, with the employee working four (4) days a week in the office, located in Coon Rapids, MN.
This isn't a "watch and learn" internship. You'll own projects and see them through. You'll focus on improving manufacturing processes and operational efficiency across key production work centers, including:
- Analyze current manufacturing operations to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Support process standardization and workflow optimization initiatives
- Conduct time studies and evaluate production methods to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Assist with implementation of best practices across manufacturing areas
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CIF) initiatives
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
- Select and lead improvement projects from start to finish under engineering guidance
- Assist with tooling, fixture, and workstation improvements
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to improve ergonomics and manufacturing efficiency
- Help evaluate equipment performance and recommend productivity enhancements
- Support implementation and validation of process changes
- Review and update manufacturing work instructions and process documentation
- Assist with standardizing procedures and reducing documentation inconsistencies
- Support visual management and process control initiatives
- Utilize digital tools and technologies to improve documentation effectiveness
- Work directly with operators, technicians, and engineers
- Participate in daily manufacturing activities and problem-solving efforts

- Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree
- Completed at least 1 year of college coursework
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable working both independently and in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with CAD software is a plus
- Bonus:
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma concepts, or process improvement methodologies
