Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Worker to join our Electric Motor and Slew Drive Assembly team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly of electric motors and/or slew drives, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the finished products. You will work on an assembly line, operating machinery, assembling components, and conducting inspections to ensure our motors meet quality standards.

Your contribution will directly impact our production timelines and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly of Electric Motors:
    • Perform various tasks in the assembly of electric motors, including rotor/stator assembly, winding, bearing installation, housing assembly, and final motor assembly.
    • Follow detailed work instructions and technical drawings to assemble components correctly and efficiently.
    • Ensure parts are correctly placed and aligned during the assembly process.
  • Assembly of Slew Drives:
    • Perform various tasks in the assembly of slew drive gearboxes, including gears, bearing installation, housing, and torque tube assembly.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Operate assembly line equipment, machinery, and tools such as winding machines, presses, and testers to complete the assembly process.
    • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct in-process inspections to verify that components are assembled according to specifications.
    • Identify and report any defective parts or products to the Quality Control team.
    • Perform basic quality checks, such as visual inspections, measurement of tolerances, and motor testing to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Material Handling:
    • Handle and transport materials and parts needed for assembly.
    • Ensure proper organization of parts on the assembly line and report any inventory shortages to the supervisor.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines while operating machinery and working on the assembly line.
  • Team

    Collaboration:
    • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve any issues during the assembly process.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
    • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and improve performance.
Qualifications Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly work, particularly in motor assembly, is preferred but not required.
    • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in assembly is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and technical drawings.
    • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for assembly tasks.
    • Basic math skills for measuring components and checking tolerances.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to identify defects in materials and products.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining focus on quality.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to [weight limit, e.g., 50-70 pounds] and carry materials to and from workstations.
    • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
  • Experience in the assembly of electric motors or related electrical products.
  • Familiarity with motor testing or other electrical components.
  • Basic understanding of quality control processes and standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma).
Working Conditions:

This position is based in Courtland, MN and involves working on the assembly line in a manufacturing environment. You may be required to work overtime or additional shifts as needed to meet production deadlines. The work environment may involve exposure to noise, mechanical parts, and various electrical tools or machines.
