Location: New York Mills
Position Overview :
Loading and securing boats and equipment for transporting to dealers. May also drive forklift and yard tractors to move boats for shipment from the plant following safety guidelines and designated procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Load finished boats for shipment from the plant.
- Move boats and equipment to load area and loads items on trailers or containers.
- Secures boats and equipment for transport.
- Cutting wooden rigging elements.
- Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
- Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while wearing all required PPE (including eye, hearing, hand, knee, foot, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three months' experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Previous forklift operation required.
- Detailed and organized person with ability to read and understand production schedule.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while wearing all required PPE (including eye, hearing, hand, knee, foot, etc.).
- Possess a positive work attitude, willingness to learn all departmental job functions, and adhere to safety and quality requirements.
Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 70 lbs., traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting, and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for most of the workday. Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors daily.
Physical exertion is required. Requires standing, bending and twisting for a 10-hour shift. May be required to work in a non-air-conditioned area. Vision protection and steel-toed shoes are required. Hearing protection may be required.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00-$20.00, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
