- Monitor and guide all production activities at the Sleepy Eye Plant
- Ensure compliance with production schedules, SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory laws, and corporate specifications and policies
- Advise, control, and support operations
- Serve as coach, counselor, and key decision maker
- Act as backup to the Site Leader
- Follow and enforce safety policies and procedures and promote the site safety culture
- Inspect safety equipment, investigate hazards, and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor Safety, Quality, Cost, and Efficiency data and develop continuous improvement plans
- Develop and manage key metrics
- Maximize sales generated by processing equipment through production-schedule compliance and new-product scale-up coordination
- Develop staffing plans and production schedules to maximize efficiency and throughput
- Monitor production operations, correct deviations, report problems and corrective actions, and ensure SOP compliance
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance repairs and equipment upgrades
- Set goals and objectives with the Operations Manager and plant leadership
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with one or more years' experience, or 5-10 years of experience in plant operations
- 3-5 years of supervising the work of and coaching others
- Proficiency with computer systems and software programs, especially Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Strong organizational skills
- Quality-oriented and process-oriented
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small-group situations
- Ability to communicate and handle conflict professionally
- Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit
- General knowledge and understanding of spray drying production processes
- Availability for long days, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Ability to manage change and interruptions
Demonstrates expertise in plant operations management, ensuring compliance with production schedules, SOPs, and regulatory standards while fostering a safety-oriented culture. Proficient in developing metrics and continuous improvement plans to enhance efficiency and quality in production processes.
