Position Summary

Senior Product Marketing Manager for web application firewalls (WAF) s role focuses on strategy, storytelling, and cross‑functional collaboration in the security space. The holder launches and supports WAF products, develops product messaging, and drives go‑to‑market initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop compelling product messaging and positioning that resonates and differentiates F5 web application firewall products.
  • Serve as the strategic voice of the customer and market, identifying key business challenges and developing actionable paths.
  • Partner closely with Product Management on product features, use cases, pricing models, and competitive analysis.
  • Craft high‑impact presentations and collateral such as sales, customer, analyst presentations, product overviews, data sheets, FAQs, briefs, and webinars.
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts, produce competitive battle cards, and make informed recommendations on packaging, positioning, and pricing.
  • Develop and implement go‑to‑market strategies and plans, coordinating with Corporate Marketing, Sales/Channel Readiness, and Business Development teams.
  • Enable Sales and Channel Partner teams by creating and communicating the value proposition and developing sales tools.
  • Support product launches, develop marketing strategy launch plans, and manage cross‑functional implementation.
  • Build and leverage market intelligence, understand new buyers, and position successfully against competition.
  • Continuously evaluate strategy using customer and market data, pivoting where necessary.
  • Lead integrated marketing efforts, deliver product content for marketing campaigns, and participate in initiatives that drive product demand.
  • Lead engagements with Sales, Channel teams, customers, partners, webinars, meetings, communications, and industry events.
  • Present marketing strategies and plans to senior and executive level management.
  • Lead engagements with industry press and trade analysts.
  • Lead and mentor teammates on the Product Marketing team.
  • Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and report violations.
  • Champion a business‑first mindset, aligning marketing efforts with product adoption and revenue growth goals.
  • Take initiative, bring solutions, and hold high standards of accountability.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Significant relevant experience in web application firewalls (WAF) and the WAF market.
  • Experience with WAF‑related products and in the security market.
  • Experience in a global role and understanding of marketing differences across regions.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public presentations.
  • Success in working effectively across teams in a global and virtual environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise marketing and sales processes.
  • Leadership experience in high‑visibility projects.
  • Substantial experience in competitive positioning, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and execution skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make quick, accurate decisions.
  • Proactive problem‑solver who turns insights into action.
  • Understanding of cloud, SaaS, and/or container‑based technologies (plus).
  • Comfortable utilizing a computer and communicating verbally.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time and be on call as needed.
Duties

Operate in a normal office environment, primarily seated at a computer. Duties may require working outside normal working hours and occasional on‑call periods.

Location and Work Arrangement

Hybrid:
Employees within 30 commutable miles of an F5 office must work from the office a minimum of 30 business days per quarter. Remote:
Primarily work from a designated home location, with occasional office visits or travel to off‑site locations.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in security product marketing, product management, technical marketing, or equivalent.
  • 6+ years analyzing products, customers, and market dynamics.
Compensation

Annual base pay range: $ – $. Incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits may also be offered.
