Public Information Coordinator

• Compensation: USD 33.26 - USD 50.31 - hourly

North Shore Health is a 16 bed critical care hospital with a 37 bed long term care facility attached.

North Shore Health is accepting applications for a Full or Part-Time Public Information Coordinator (PIC). The PIC is responsible for developing and coordinating North Shore Health’s (NSH’s) internal and external communication, public information, and community engagement activities. This position leads efforts related to media relations, messaging, social media, website and digital content, publications, advertising, brand and visual identity, community outreach, and communication planning.

The PIC also supports employee communications and works with departments and leaders to promote NSH’s programs, services, accomplishments, and initiatives. The PIC serves as the primary contact for media inquiries, develops key messages and communication materials, prepares organizational spokespersons, and may serve as a spokesperson when requested. The position also provides communication counsel to leadership on sensitive, emerging, and significant organizational issues and helps anticipate and coordinate communication needs related to matters of community interest or concern.

The successful candidate will be a strong writer and communicator who is creative, organized, collaborative, and comfortable working across a variety of communication platforms and with diverse internal and external audiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in public relationsor communications, experience designing and managing social media sites,creating concise and visually engaging communications collateral,communication planning,and communicating with the press and other media.

Education: Requires aBachelor’sdegree in marketing, communications, journalismor closely related field.

Starting range is $33.26 to $50.31 per hour
