Set as a guide of personal behavior the standard required in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
- Preach and teach the Word of God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments;
- Administer the sacraments, Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, according to the practice of the Evangelical Covenant Church;
- Lead in ministry to all the members of this faith community according to particular needs; including youth ministry, men’s Bible study, church activities, confirmation, adult Sunday school, marriages, funerals, baptisms;
- Lead us in fulfilling our church’s responsibility to witness for Christ and to gather into community the lost and unconnected;
- Give pastoral leadership to our congregation’s boards, ministry committees and activities;
- Keep your life in harmony with the Word of God, striving in word and deed to be a worthy example in Christian living, avoiding conduct which might endanger the faith of others;
- Keep your practices consistent with the Covenant Afformations, and Constitution and Bylaws of this congregation;
- Oversee the leadership of worship services;
- Encourage us to support the mission of the Covenant Church and our regional conference;
- Minister to members who are sick/shut-in at their homes or in nursing home (visits, administer Lord’s Supper);
- Maintain a daily office schedule at the church that is accessible and accountable to lay leadership and office staff of at least 20 hrs/week (Suggested 8:00am-Noon);
- Participate in the community ministerial group;
- Supportive of camping ministry (Bluewater Covenant Bible Camp);
- Meet regularly with Pastoral Committee to maintain effective ministry;
- Follow up with members of church who are not attending regularly;
- Attend Covenant pastoral professional development opportunities and maintain a regular program of personal study to enable yourself to conduct meaningful worship services and service to the congregation.
